The documentation relevant to this period mainly comes from acropolis, where, after the town destruction, a fortified structure was built and the hill was surrounded by a huge walls. Life concentrated on a limited surface (two hectares) until XI – XII century when settlement features changed, the coast was abandoned and in the inland, following the direction of the “lame” new living settlement were excavated and churches frescoed, the so called rupestrian settlements, numerous in the Fasano territory.
