| Late Ancient Age: Egnatia Between East and West. The Bishop's Town |

On the grounds of the most recent archaeological attainments (digs carried out in 2001), this section shows the transformation of the site in late ancient age.
Egnatia plays a new role between IV and VI century, connected with the establishment of the Christian cult in the town and with its strategic position along Via Traiana, as an essential connection with the ports of call and the Mediterranean.
Very important was the presence of three Christian basilicas, (one was a bishop's basilica): many architectural elements and floor mosaic's remaining on show come from them.
