| Iron Age: Egnatia and Iapygian Settlements in Salento |

The period examined, namely IX – VII century. b. C., is characterized by the Iapygian cultural unity and by the continuity of relationships with the Balkanic and Greek world. The section shows the distribution of the sites in Salento, the features of some settlements (S. Vito dei Normanni, Mesagne) showing the audience for the first time the stone steli connected to the funerary field, found in Mesagne, Muro Tenente and Cavallino.
